I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

hampshire13 Nov 2021 13:27We have slightly expanded our tree collection.
A cedar has been added, which can grow up to 20m (65 feet) tall – at the moment, the 3.x m (around 10 feet) young tree just barely peeks over the driveway.
Next to the house, a red-berried holly with a tall trunk has been planted, to its left a European hornbeam that can grow in a bushy-tree form (barely visible in the first picture), and in the foreground, a golden rain tree.
Here is another view of the European hornbeam.

We don’t have a house yet, but now we have 9 more trees.
Last weekend, the four of us planted 7 trees (two apple, two pear, one aspen, one hornbeam, and one field maple), and yesterday we transplanted two cherry trees from my current garden.
Hopefully, they will all survive the winter.

It’s quite difficult to photograph trees in front of other trees 🙂

It was already getting a bit dark

This will be the view from the kitchen window 🙂

The rest of the garden will be done gradually next year. We are doing everything ourselves.

Behind our house, there is a field used for agricultural purposes. Large machines spray chemicals two to three times a year. Today was one of those days again. It bothers me a lot because I suspect it might be some kind of herbicide or pesticide. The field is surrounded by detached houses, and the kindergarten is located at the closest point, about 300 meters (980 feet) away… the west wind blows directly in that direction. Currently, young cereal crops are just emerging in the field. Does anyone know what might be sprayed at this time?
