I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

We also had a rough plan at the start of construction. During the building phase, we noticed where we naturally tend to sit and made some adjustments. We bought plants for the hedges bordering the neighbors. Almost all the perennials and ground cover plants were gifts from friends and family, or found through giveaway ads on the classifieds site. We have over 800sqm (8,600 sq ft). There are some great plants included! The remaining areas consist of some lawn and a lot of sowed mustard greens, common vetch, and winter vetch. We will continue this until we gradually acquire and purchase more plants.
After completing our staircase in autumn, the next project will start in January. We’ve just ordered a seven-meter (23-foot) fiberglass flagpole with an onion-shaped finial, in white, classic style, with a three-meter (10-foot) Schleswig-Holstein pennant attached. It’s going to look great, and the people from Hamburg across the street will probably roll their eyes.
I will raise it in the morning and take it down again at sunset. While raising it, I'll quietly hum "Schleswig-Holstein, embraced by the sea, high watch of German tradition...," and while lowering it, we’ll whistle the popular Lübeck March, "Hold on, hold on amid the storm..."

I’m looking forward to seeing a picture, @Nordlys!
Not much has happened in the garden lately. I planted more bulbs—various hyacinths, crocuses, tulips, daffodils, and so on. I also created a small round flower bed in the front garden with a few roses and perennials.
Additionally, I took a number of strawberry runners from my climbing strawberry mother plants and placed them in a propagation box. So far, they look healthy. They will be planted in various spots in the spring, for example along the fence. There are about 40 of them.
Well, what else… We set up a bed for some vegetables and sowed green manure in the other vegetable beds. Since we have at least two hedgehogs in the garden that are already hibernating, we’re taking it easy. Soon, the Christmas tree will be chopped up and used as winter protection, and that will be it for now.
In the basement, we tore down some unnecessary partition walls. The bricks we recovered will be used to create a herb circle, which I’m really looking forward to. It will probably turn more into a strawberry circle though, because my Senga Sengana strawberries are growing like crazy and taste so delicious—I’ll definitely be taking even more of those.
Otherwise, as the season shifts, our work is moving indoors. For now, we’re continuing projects in the basement to pass the time until spring, including plastering and possibly my first tile-laying experiment ever… 😱
