ᐅ Dishwasher front panels

Hello
Has anyone here already looked into the installation options for dishwasher fronts in the new Metod kitchen system? I have spent some time researching this topic and would like to share my current findings with you:
As I understand it, IKEA now offers the option in Metod to have the dishwasher fronts divided, so they appear as if the dishwasher has multiple drawers. Alternatively, you can install a continuous door as before. This can also be selected in the online planner, which will then display the desired front layout.
Additionally, I found out that Metod requires a special mechanism where the dishwasher fronts slide along rails attached to the dishwasher door. I think it works similarly to the sliding doors on refrigerators.
What isn’t clear to me yet is whether this special sliding mechanism is mandatory with Metod, or if you can still mount the front fixed directly to the dishwasher door as before. Does this have something to do with the different plinth height between Metod and Faktum?
If you want to attach multiple partial fronts to the dishwasher door, you need the Vaglig (20250663) product. This consists of two rails that hold the partial fronts together. But as far as I understand, this does not include the sliding mechanism itself.
For the sliding mechanism, you then need either Resonlig (50248348) or Behjälplig (50242426). The difference between these two seems to be that they fit different dishwasher models (Resonlig for Skinande, Rengöra, and LAGAN; Behjälplig for Hjälpsam). However, I have not yet figured out which one is needed for a non-IKEA dishwasher.
There is also Ersättare (00250664), which appears to be an installation solution for semi-integrated dishwashers. Since IKEA does not offer semi-integrated appliances in their range, Ersättare is probably designed specifically for non-IKEA models that you want to install in Metod. I have also looked at the installation instructions for Ersättare, but some things are still unclear to me:
As I understand it, the lower part of the front must be a partial front with a height of 20cm (8 inches), which is hinged in such a way that it flips open when the dishwasher door is opened. Does this mean that a continuous front is not possible with semi-integrated dishwashers???
Additionally, the instructions state that the upper partial front, also 20cm (8 inches) high, must be cut to size depending on the dishwasher’s trim height. I assume this would only apply to fronts without embossed patterns, because if, for example, I cut a Lidingö front (which has an embossed pattern) in the middle at 20cm (8 inches), I would be cutting through the design?
Since I want to install an existing dishwasher with a semi-integrated front in my new Metod kitchen with Lidingö/Bodbyn fronts, I am currently puzzled about how the installation should actually look.
Since Metod will be available in Austria from April 1st, I will definitely ask IKEA then.
Does anyone already know the answers to my questions?
Best regards

Hello,

The Bosch SBV58N31EU mentioned above doesn’t seem to work because no 80 cm (31.5 inches) front panel fits.

With the Vario hinge and cutlery drawer as a requirement, I have now found the following models:
Siemens SX778D01TE
Bosch SBE88TD01E

Both cost around 850 EUR. At that price, I could basically buy a Miele for 900 EUR:
Miele G 4975 SCVI XXL

Is it correct that the XXL models from Miele simply fit, or do I need to cut the plinth? I think I saw a picture here once, but it looked quite tight. I also don’t know how far the plinth is recessed behind the front panel, as I don’t have an IKEA kitchen yet. If that gap is even relevant at all..?

Hello, the baseboard is set further back in the Metod system compared to other kitchens. According to Miele’s specifications, the door should swing over the baseboard panel, if I haven’t miscalculated, but if the baseboard panel needs to be slightly cut out, that shouldn’t be a big issue either.
The Miele model is even available for €815.

At 46 dB, the Miele model would be too loud for me.

Thanks for the tips.
The noise level would actually be a downside, especially since I will have an open-plan kitchen. And if the plinth panel does need to be cut out after all, I always make sure to pay close attention to that.

For an open kitchen, I wouldn’t choose anything over 42 dB, but sensitivity varies from person to person.

Dear Ikea kitchen specialists,

I had an IKEA METOD kitchen with white handleless VOXTORP fronts planned and installed.
Unfortunately, the installation of the dishwasher (Siemens SN76P030EU - 81.5 cm (32 inches) height with Vario hinge) could not be completed because the 60 x 80 cm (24 x 31.5 inches) front, despite the Vario hinge, prevents the dishwasher door from opening (the lower part of the front hits the dishwasher).

Dimensions:
Niche height 88.5 cm (35 inches) (floor to underside of countertop)
Kickboard height: 8 cm (3 inches)

Here is what I have considered:
1. According to Siemens dimension drawings, the fronts for the SN7.. dishwashers should have a height of 655-750 mm (26-30 inches).
This means there are 5 cm (2 inches) too many here.
Could I simply cut off these 5 cm (or even 10 cm (4 inches)) from the front and fix it rigidly at the lower part?
I would have to sand the longer part of the front (75 cm (30 inches)) slightly to allow enough space for opening with only a minimal gap.

2. Install the Siemens folding hinge (special accessory for dishwasher folding hinge for tall cabinets SZ73010).

3. Replace the 60 x 80 cm (24 x 31.5 inches) front with 4 Voxtorp drawer fronts 60 x 20 cm (24 x 8 inches) - 902.731.90 in combination with ERSÄTTARE 002.506.64.

Could you please give me some advice? I would be very grateful for any response, as the kitchen is otherwise finished. Thank you very much.
