Hello!

After unsuccessfully arguing with Bosch customer service, I’m quite frustrated and looking for a new dishwasher.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a dishwasher? We have an IKEA kitchen, so the Bosch XXL dishwashers would have been a good fit. Now we need one with a Vario hinge.

The main thing for me is that the dishes come out properly clean. Noise level is also important since we have an open-plan living area.

Is there really a difference between the “budget” brands and the well-known ones?

Until now, I had a Beko that cleaned everything well right up to the end. I’m even considering buying one from IKEA now.

Good luck,

That would be the last thing I would do. As far as I know, those are Electrolux appliances, and I don’t think the price is justified. We have a Siemens appliance in our Metod kitchen, and it works wonderfully, is quiet, and has a really large capacity. It was also cheaper than the Ikea model. But Bosch and Siemens are basically the same brand (BESH?), at least they seem to come from the same production line. Whether the customer service is different, I don’t know.

I have to agree with Alex. Definitely avoid buying from Ikea. The best choice, by a clear margin, are Miele dishwashers. They also fit Ikea furniture best; you just need to buy an XXL model and that's it. Four years ago, we bought the then top Siemens model with Zeolith technology. Very quiet and energy-efficient, but the cleaning and drying were rather unsatisfactory. Currently, we have a Miele dishwasher that opens automatically after the cycle, and it dries very well.

Siemens and Bosch are basically identical. I believe some Neff appliances are also produced by BSH.

Alex, how satisfied are you with the Vario hinge?

@Knallkörper It works. When opening, the front panel slides along, so it doesn’t hit the bottom of the cabinet. When closed, the front is flush on all sides.

...we have had the AEG F99605VI1P for 7 months now (it is also XXL). The dishwasher interior is equipped similarly to Miele models.

Inside, it features lighting and is made entirely of stainless steel, including a wine glass holder. The upper rack is adjustable to two heights, making it suitable for tall plates as well. Currently, it is also the quietest dishwasher in silent mode within this price range. Our kitchen is integrated into the living area. It has a program that automatically opens the door after the drying cycle to help evaporate residual moisture.

It also uses a Vario hinge (also known as a sliding hinge).

Good luck

We have just received our new kitchen and chose Miele.
We have already done quite a few loads, and the results are top quality. The dishwasher is also open-plan in the living/dining/kitchen area and is almost unnoticeable (44 dB).

It is an A+++ appliance and the options for adjusting the interior baskets are brilliant. Available as an XXL size as well.

This is the model:
