I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

through the old building, much was already established,For me, the strongest argument in favor of renovating an existing building is that you don’t have to wait forever like on a brand new building plot for something to appear, turning a desert into a garden. No drive-in pantry or corner window in the guest bathroom can make up for the fact that, apart from moss in the joints, nothing is flourishing.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

That is certainly true. But our house was also new construction back in 1921, starting out as a barren site, and the garden had to be completely created from scratch. That’s just how it is and often unavoidable with new builds. I especially love my mature fruit trees and, of course, the seating areas and so on. Without new construction, we wouldn’t even have had most of these (garage, sturdy shed, greenhouse—all of these were already there).
But that doesn’t really matter now; starting from scratch has its own advantages! You can design and do everything exactly as you want.

That’s correct. For example, I definitely want to plant a lime tree on our property. It will take a long time before we can really enjoy it, and by then we’ll already be old. The same goes for the birch tree we planted last year; it won’t take as long, but it will still be several years.
One morning, while lying in bed, we suddenly heard a rumble at the open roof window, and this little fellow crash-landed right next to our bed! It’s one of the young blue tits nesting here. We caught it and held it out the window, but it just called for its parents and didn’t fly away. So we went down to the garden and placed it on the carport roof near the nest box. Then it flew off into the lilac bush next to the nest box. What a fluffy surprise for Mother’s Day!
