I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

There was quite some action here. I went for a run early this morning and noticed a lot of damaged trees. The forest bench is actually quite solid, but it is located in a kind of wind tunnel created by the surrounding buildings. Unfortunately, the neighboring property, which was quite tall and densely overgrown, was heavily thinned out in the spring, and our new plantings (hazel, dogwood, and elder) are still not tall or strong enough to block this funnel. For the time being, I'll remove every other board of the backrest in autumn. That way, the bench can still be used, but hopefully the wind will whistle through.
It’s not a big deal though—I was just really surprised when the bench suddenly made a jump and tipped over 😱

We have a particularly beautiful beech tree that is around 120 years old. During the dry period two years ago, combined with a storm, it developed a longitudinal crack in the trunk along the first 6-7 meters (20-23 feet). It is still standing. Let’s see if there have been any changes. Unfortunately, the tree cannot be technically saved, but I will not cut it down prematurely.

Be careful that it’s not too late.
Here, the birch tree has to be removed in the next few days, as it is slowly settling on the roof of the house.
I have to defend the oak and the maple. My husband and a friend want to remove both. They don’t bother where the trees are located, and the trees are healthy.

Alternatively, maybe two drive-in ground sockets for the rear legs, four screws, and done?

@Hangman further up by the turn signal, it must have been whistling quite a bit. Too bad about the bench at your place 🙄 I really like them, but since my husband always gets numb sitting on one for a long time, he absolutely refuses to have one.

The indicator light is still on... unlike at the bank, professionals were at work here 🙂 You could consider giving your husband a cushion for his sensitive backside?!?
