I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Of course, I’m joining in again 😀.. Nature is really thriving right now.. The chives, peonies, and irises are especially beautiful this year. The vegetable patch is struggling a bit.. I had to sow the carrots a second time, and the beetroot, bush beans, and corn also have many gaps. The cucumbers I planted aren’t doing very well either. Maybe it was still too cold? The white cabbage and kohlrabi are growing well.. I wrapped the root collars of the seedlings with sheep’s wool... so far that’s helping. I’ve harvested plenty of spinach, prepared it, and frozen it. The first strawberries are turning red.

I think it is too cold. The seeds are not germinating, tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini look healthy but are not really growing.
The peppers have recovered well after the fungus gnat infestation and are at least visibly stronger.
I now have aphids on four tomato plants. I haven’t experienced that before.
After a few nights with temperatures of 2-3°C (36-37°F), I’m glad the plants haven’t completely died. That’s especially a miracle for the cucumbers, and the peanut plant is still alive.
I planted the beans for the project just last weekend. It took a very long time for them to sprout. Until I knew what I was getting, I didn’t plant any others. I usually don’t plant before the period of the “ice saints” (last frost dates).

Costruttrice2 Jun 2022 10:10That looks absolutely amazing at your place!!!
I’m completely hopeless when it comes to plants and gardening. I really enjoy looking at it at other people’s homes and think it’s great, but I lack the motivation to get involved and keep up with it regularly myself. At least I once bought a book on “home farming.” I would like to have some fruit and vegetables with this house since I have more space this time. But that will only be relevant next year, so until then, I’ll just keep enjoying your photos.
