I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

I just replaced the hose from the neighbor to us on Monday for the construction water (the old one was damaged by frost). And now this! I hope it’s still okay, we theoretically had exactly 1°C (34°F), and this time the hose is high quality!

Hey @Hangman, you also make your own Christmas cards, right? With that panorama, you could make some money – blue hour, Photoshop… nailed it :p

Then we should team up. I’m a terribly bad photographer, but even I can’t mess this up here. Here’s the view to the west in the morning and evening:

Snow-covered village with half-timbered houses, smoke coming out of a chimney, surrounded by a winter landscape.

Evening glow over snow-covered village with roofs, trees, and hills all covered in snow.

And to the north of us (right by the access road), the kindergarten (photo from the attic):

Winter schoolyard scene: white building, tree, and playground covered in snow.

And one more look at the village

Landscape with fields, hills, and a small village in the valley under a blue sky.

The bright spot in the center is the "Blinker" – essentially a very, very large billboard with movable mirrors that gleam cheerfully in the afternoon sun. Our house is a little to the right just below the Blinker... it really is too good to be true.

Just had a visit. The falcon is perched on a light fixture, staring at the bird feeder. The subsequent attack on a sparrow failed.

@Hangman: Phew, that's a lot of stairs. You must be exhausted just carrying a case of soda from the street to the front door....

This is what it looks like almost everywhere around here 🙂, although @Hangman lives more in "hostile territory," if I believe the stories from the locals...

Here from (specifically) my area:

(unfortunately, as often is the case, photos don’t really capture it well...)

Small village in a winter valley: houses on the valley floor, forested right slope, snow-covered fields.

Hilly landscape with snow-covered fields, forest in the background, blue sky.

Snow-covered landscape with forested hills, snowy path and wooden fence in the foreground.

Snowy forest path on rocky slope, surrounded by coniferous trees; snow covers the ground.

Person sitting on rocks looking over snow-covered forest and meadow landscape with houses.

(Off-topic end, after all, this thread is about gardens 🙂)
