I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

...and what exactly does that have to do with an explanatory video on evidence-based science? Only you seem to know.
It's a shame that the immediate response is always whataboutism when facts are presented. Well, that doesn’t help at all. When it comes to climate change, this is no longer false balancing. It’s similar to the creationism debate in the US. Everyone basically knows it’s complete nonsense, yet it’s still treated seriously. The problem is that a science-based discussion doesn’t work when the other side’s arguments are not scientifically founded. There are even some people who genuinely believe the Earth is flat. At that point, nobody tries to engage in a serious debate anymore.
Speaking of book recommendations... has anyone here read the books by Yuval Harari?

They are worth reading if you want to know Harari’s views on the future. His ideas are often original, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are accurate. I find many points implausible. Nevertheless, they do offer material that can help sharpen your own thinking, if that’s what you’re looking for.
Stylistically, they are light and presented in a straightforward, easy-to-understand way.

Oh... how did this get in here? It was actually meant for the more general thread... but whatever. I read the first one and sometimes smiled and had small “Ah, I see... this could explain quite a bit” moments. The second one stumbles a bit, but there are still some thought-provoking points. I find them very worth reading anyway, because they also give a fairly comprehensive look at us humans and how we tick 🙂
