I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

I will harvest my intact green tomatoes this weekend. The weather forecast isn’t good. They continue to ripen quite well in a box wrapped in newspaper. Many have heat damage (green shoulders) or are now splitting due to moisture, so I will leave those on the plant. Either they will improve on the plant, or it’s just bad luck. In the box, they would only rot.
Chili plants in pots are being brought indoors, and I will mostly remove leaves from those in the garden and provide winter protection at night. They are still very green.

@Steffi33 Do you already pick the green tomatoes because they won’t ripen anyway, or is there another reason? In this case, some tomato plants had spread on their own next to the compost. I cut them back because they were in the way by then, and I “rescued” the green tomatoes. Otherwise, I usually leave green tomatoes on the plant. However, frost must not come; then they’re ruined.I’ve tried ripening them off the vine before, but I felt that the flavor really declined.
