I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Looked outside from bed to check the weather. Took a photo with my phone and ruined it with filter effects. I would have liked it for Christmas. Now I'd rather have spring.

View through window of snow-covered trees and mountain landscape; windowsill with plant and books.

Garden in winter with snow-covered terrace, greenhouse, and lounge chair

What can you say – the snow has made itself comfortable on the lounge chair – the unwelcome guest, der 🤨

I hope it stays like this until the weekend. I want to go sledding.
There is enough snow at 660 m (2,165 ft).

My magnolia is a sorry sight. Just as it started to bloom, the leaves are hanging damaged on the tree.

Here too: If we had had snow at Christmas, we would have been happy – but NOW?

Okay, it’s April – I can accept a short snowfall this time of year. But then the sun comes out again, followed by rain, then wind, and so on.
Nobody needs 4 days of frost and continuous snowfall in April! Not even the trees.
I see the magnolia’s tragedy playing out in the neighboring gardens; we don’t have any ourselves. I just hope my serviceberry survives the frost period. The columnar cherry plum tree I bought for my mother’s birthday this year has just started to bud. Will the prolonged frost affect it badly? I hope it can handle it.
At my brother’s neighbor’s place, the old cherry plum tree was already in full bloom – we’ll see if it actually bears fruit this year or if everything got frozen away.
And the coldest night is still ahead of us, from Thursday to Friday...

I AM ANNOYED!
(I just had to get that off my chest)

It has always been like this.
And yes: it is really annoying. Nobody needs this, I want to be in the garden.

My magnolia is a complete disaster.
That's unfortunate; we don't have ours yet. I like magnolias.
