I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

I also don't find them good for eating fresh anymore. They are okay for cooking.

@Steffi33 I really like your trellis. What is the diameter of the metal rods? I assume it is reinforcing steel?

The reinforcing bars were 8 meters (26 feet) long and 8 mm (0.3 inches) in diameter. Two kiwi plants are supposed to climb up on them.

@Steffi33 Do you pick the green tomatoes because they won’t ripen anyway, or is there another reason?
We always preserve green tomatoes, but you have to like them. I find them tasty.

Aren't they toxic because of the solanine content?

It’s all about the quantity—3 to 4 tomatoes a day won’t cause any harm.

Before throwing them away, there are many recipes to use them.

For 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of tomatoes, use 1 liter (34 fl oz) of salted water, vinegar, onion, and a piece of horseradish. Let it steep for about one month. I always keep them whole because when they cut them into quarters, I find they get too soft.
