I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Shall I tell you something? It’s contagious and addictive.

I like it. We have plans for the next 15 years on our property and enjoy both the current state and every step along the way – irrigation system, photovoltaic panels on the carport, a sculpture trail, more trees, an outdoor sauna, a fire pit, purchasing an adjacent meadow (if it works out), taming and developing additional areas like the 60-degree slope toward the road or two steep rock faces – always considering the habitat for wildlife... Some things get dropped again, like the hillside lift, which we ended up not needing in practice since we redesigned the driveway differently than initially planned.
A relaxed motto to slow down the process: Nothing gets done quickly.

Do I get an invitation? "Outdoor sauna and fire pit"

We are having a gentle rain here… everything is growing and thriving.

The sauna will be a small barrel sauna on a trailer (so we can place it freely) and will remain private. The fire pit will probably be a three-quarter circle made of graywacke stone with an open fire in the center, similar to what you can see at the Lindlar Graywacke Manufactory. The sauna might be ready before winter. The fire pit definitely not this year. You are welcome to come by for the fire pit.

This year, the small wildflower meadow in front of our garden, which we planted instead of grass (it’s community land, but since we destroyed the grass there during construction, we had to replant it, of course), is flourishing:

I never sowed the evening primrose, daisies, or lady’s bedstraw myself—they have naturally settled there, which makes me very happy!

In the meantime, I downloaded an app called “Flora incognita” to identify all the plants that grow there—it’s really fun. Some herbs have snuck in, too. The parsley helped cover a shortage we had, and now I think I will rely on the dill growing there as well. Mine exploded and has since been removed from the bed, and I have replanted it. So, during the time I don’t have dill in the bed, I can turn to my flower bed in front of the house 😎
