I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

Doubled and mirrored extended downward, you get the flag of Costa Rica; doubled and mirrored extended upward, the flag of Thailand. Very versatile, your "pennant"...
Seriously. The Netherlands flag is orange, white, and blue—Oranje boven—while we ultimately fly our coat of arms. The blue Schleswig lion on top, the red and white nettle leaf of Holstein below represents Schleswig-Holstein. And privately, people don’t raise a large flag but rather a decorative pennant, which lasts longer in the windy climate.
Aha. In our household, we raise a flag on holidays or when guests arrive. But not with a pennant; we use the Bavaria flag (white and blue) or, as my father did in the past, the Franconian rake. During the construction, the flagpole had to be removed. Now my mother has already complained that she would like to have one again.
We are not really into that... we’ll see how it turns out.
On another note: the 2021 tomato growing season has officially started:
Now they are allowed to just start poking their heads out of the soil in the kitchen, then they will be moved to the cool but bright workshop. The biggest and strongest plants will then be potted until they can be planted outdoors in the tomato bed around mid-May! This year the timing is right; due to garden completion last year, planting only happened in June, and the tomato harvest came quite late.
