I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

@Climbee.. then that is a completely different situation, and I withdraw the accusatory tone. Wishing you much happiness in your new home.

My velvet hydrangea already has very large buds in its first year, and I’m eagerly waiting to see when the first one will bloom:

(of course, I check it daily!)

Steffi, no problem – by now, I thought everyone here had heard about our issues with this neighbor.

Good morning,

maybe some of you remember when I showed pictures of the Ferrari I used to plow through the field.
Since then, quite a bit has progressed. Except for two trees, I have fenced off everything, paved the path, and installed mowing edges around the outside.
Now I still need a lot of topsoil and will lay the boundary wire and search cable for R2D2, the smaller brother of Robocop. Then the seeding will take place, along with applying starter fertilizer and soil activator... I hope R2D2 can already start mowing by the start of school at the end of August.

Paved path made of gray and beige stones beside a wall; shadows of people in the garden.

Paved walkway made of light and dark paving stones next to sandy soil and trees in the garden.

Sandy soil in a park with trees, wooden posts, and a stone ring around a tree.

Garden construction site: sandy soil, lawn mower, shrubs, and paving stones with houses in the background.

Tomorrow I’ll lay the boundary wire, and then I can apply soil activator, starter fertilizer, and grass seed... It was really hard work when I think about how it used to look... all done solo.

Looks good and definitely a lot of work... I've been through that already. The lawn edging and boundary wire for the robotic mower are still missing.

Did you lay the mowing edge dry on gravel or did you also use concrete?
