I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

At some point, you’ll regret planting it there. The fir tree will grow huge and block your light. A nice fruit tree would suit that spot better.

Yes, we recently had two fir trees (or similar), about 15 m (50 feet) tall, cut down. Besides the light they were blocking, they also dropped a lot of cones and resin. They had already been planted by the previous owners.

I would use the fir again as a Christmas tree next or the year after, but without the roots. Then plant something smaller in the front garden.
Large trees are great in a suitably large garden, but it’s better to place them somewhere at the edge.

The lighting is not the problem; there is only the garage there.

If necessary, I'll use the chainsaw. Although my wife will probably be really upset with me for that :-). That area in front is her domain. She can handle it. I'm just the guy who carries out the orders.

My acquaintance has a stump grinder, and my neighbor has a large wheel loader.

A stump grinder is sufficient. However, you will need a building permit / planning permission for that.

Then you make sure it does not grow large enough to fall under the tree protection regulation.
