Hello,
I have a question. I have an old wall cabinet that was originally mounted vertically on the wall with the corresponding door.
Now here’s the tricky part: I want to hang the cabinet horizontally on the wall and have bought the Utrusta hinges 602.046.50 for this. Unfortunately, the cabinet does not have the pre-drilled holes for attaching the hinges, and I have no idea how to find the correct position for the hinges. Before I start measuring with a tape measure in the kitchen section, I wanted to ask here first. It’s important to note that this is not about the position on the door—I already have the template that was supplied for that. It’s about the position of the hinges with the lift arm.

Thanks and best regards

Hello, do you mean the two 5 mm (0.2 inch) holes for the mounting plate?
Distances from the edge: 20 mm (0.8 inch), 52 mm (2 inches)

... an old wall cabinet that was mounted vertically on the wall with a matching door.
Now comes the tricky part, because I want to hang the cabinet horizontally on the wall...

How do you plan to load the cabinet, in kilograms (kg)?

It’s possible that it won’t hold, and the top and bottom panels—which would then become the side walls—might pull out, causing the contents to fall onto the countertop.

You can easily attach it to the wall using spare part 124516.

Most kitchen installers, myself included, usually have a few left over. You can probably also find them in the clearance section for a few cents or order them via the spare parts request form.

If there are cabinets on both sides, you can of course also securely connect them using furniture screws from the hardware store.

Hello
thanks in advance for the answers.
I will try to take a picture of the holes I’m missing shortly, so it’s easier to understand.

It’s possible that it won’t hold and the bottom and top panels, which would then act as side walls, could be pulled out, causing the contents to fall onto the countertop.

Um, do you think that could actually happen? I was planning to put glasses in there... could this happen due to a different force distribution? I can’t really imagine that.
Here is the picture—the holes marked with numbers 1 and 2 are missing because I’m using a different carcass (it’s a carcass from the Faktum series vertical wall cabinet). Could someone measure the positions and tell me?

The vertical distance is 5 cm (2 inches). Since with METOD you can install doors across multiple cabinets, the first hole is also 5 cm (2 inches) from the top edge of the side panel.

I am still not completely sure what you want to do. A vertical FAKTUM wall cabinet would be a standard FAKTUM wall unit, for example 69.8 x 70 cm (27.5 x 28 inches). You want to hang it 70 cm (28 inches) wide and 59.8 cm (23.5 inches) high?

The door is a FAKTUM door, but you want to install it as an upward-opening flap with the UTRUSTA lift-up hinge?

All the details are important.
