Hello,
I am currently assembling my kitchen. At the moment, I am working on my wall cabinet with a glass door. I have the problem that I need to attach the glass door in a spot where there is no frame—only glass.
Does IKEA offer a wrong combination (Avsik and Faktum wall cabinet) or am I doing something wrong?
Thank you very much,
Charly

benni_131520 Jan 2010 17:43I have one more request. After a long back and forth with the wrong front panel and so on, I finally managed today to get all the parts for the Ikea Faktum wall cabinet 70cm x 40cm (28 inches x 16 inches). Unfortunately, I now realize that the drilling template is missing. If someone could send it to me in electronic form, that would be great.
Many thanks,
Benni

THANK YOU

zenni_155427 Feb 2010 12:31Hello!
I just came across this thread. I have the same problem as several others. I recently got these additional small plates from Ikea, and drilling holes isn’t really the issue. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to attach the hinges to the Faktum cabinet frame. There are only two holes, and the hinges don’t fit there as long as I want to keep the shelf. Do I need to drill new holes? How do I figure out exactly where? I don’t have any template or guide for this…
The corresponding part on the door isn’t clear to me either. I do have a template for that, but where exactly should I position it before drilling?
It’s kind of ridiculous what Ikea is doing here. They sell things that don’t fit together and basically leave you hanging…
Does anyone have any ideas? Could someone possibly measure where they screwed in their hinges? I think that would really help me!
Thanks!
Best regards, Henning
Edit: Now I’ve figured out where to attach the large hinge – I was so dumb… It has these two holes, and the hinge has two raised spots, so it worked perfectly there…

Maverick18541 Mar 2010 08:01Take a look at the door manual. Everything is explained very clearly there.
A drilling template is included with the door. This is the template with the letters from A to D.
As you have already noticed, you don’t need a drilling template for the hinge itself.
Where did you position the shelf? Right at the top, in the fifth hole? That won’t work. But if the cabinet is installed at a height of about 2.70 meters (8 ft 10 in) to the top edge, then having a shelf that high isn’t really practical, unless you are particularly tall. At 1.73 meters (5 ft 8 in), I already have trouble reaching the back corner in a wall cabinet of standard height with a middle shelf.

I am urgently looking for the template of the avsik, specifically the narrow version. Is there anyone online who happens to have it???? That would be a dream, I am almost finished, only this last front is still missing....
PLEASE!
