ᐅ IKEA FAKTUM – Is it possible to use Capita or Metod legs with a Faktum kitchen?

Lottiehund25 Feb 2016 14:29Hello, I would like to update my Faktum kitchen (specifically, a type of highboard that I assembled from three Faktum cabinets) and install new legs.
I have already purchased furniture feet with M8 threads, which can be easily screwed onto the Faktum cabinets (already tested).
Currently, I have the old Capita legs – 4 per cabinet (so a total of 12).
The original plan was:
I only replace the legs (a total of 12); the mounting plate (is that the correct term?) and the screw that allows fine height adjustment would remain under the cabinets.
Now I just noticed that with the NEW Capita legs (the ones for Metod), you can connect two cabinets together and support them on one leg.
I find this visually much more appealing. At least at the front (where it is visible), I would like to do it this way.
The three cabinets would then stand on a total of 8 or 10 legs (if I only connect in the front).
Does anyone know if the new Capita legs (or the mounting plates) are compatible with the pre-drilled holes on the Faktum cabinets?
Or is it also possible to place two cabinets on one leg with the old cabinets, and I just didn’t realize this?
I would really appreciate any help!
Thank you!

IKEA-Experte25 Feb 2016 15:04Hello, with CAPITA nothing has changed except the offered heights and colors, so you have always been able to use one leg for two carcasses together.

Then I can get started this evening right away and don’t have to make another trip to Ikea first. How great!

funnyclauds7 Feb 2017 14:27Hello,
I’m joining in here with a question:
Do I understand the thread correctly that the Capita feet currently available for purchase fit under Faktum cabinets? Or are there (home improvement store) alternatives?
Thanks & best regards,
Claudia

IKEA-Experte7 Feb 2017 14:39Yes, the current CAPITA legs also fit under FAKTUM cabinets, but they are no longer available in 11 cm (4.3 inches) and 21 cm (8.3 inches) heights. The hardware stores also offer alternatives. You should just make sure that the side panels are properly supported to prevent the bottom from eventually breaking through.

funnyclauds7 Feb 2017 14:46Thanks, IKEA expert.
My newly added base cabinets are positioned like a kind of counter against a single wall (which corresponds to the side panel of a base cabinet). Therefore, the height is not that important to me; the 16cm (6.3 inches) Capita legs should be fine. And if I understand correctly, Capita legs allow you to screw together two cabinets underneath, so that the side panel is supported? Is that what you mean?
