Hello,
I have a question. I have an old wall cabinet that was originally mounted vertically on the wall with the corresponding door.
Now here’s the tricky part: I want to hang the cabinet horizontally on the wall and have bought the Utrusta hinges 602.046.50 for this. Unfortunately, the cabinet does not have the pre-drilled holes for attaching the hinges, and I have no idea how to find the correct position for the hinges. Before I start measuring with a tape measure in the kitchen section, I wanted to ask here first. It’s important to note that this is not about the position on the door—I already have the template that was supplied for that. It’s about the position of the hinges with the lift arm.
Thanks and best regards

I just looked it up again.
I hadn’t considered the door size... do you think it won’t hold? I have the small hinges and a door that’s 40cm x 92cm (16 inches x 36 inches). Do those 10cm (4 inches) really make a difference?

IKEA-Experte16 Sep 2015 20:03It depends on the weight, which is why I suggested checking with Blum. Alternatively, try it out, and if the door does not stay up even at the maximum setting, exchange it.

thanks again, it worked and fits well! Holds firmly! For reference, the door is a 90x40 cm (35x16 inches) Faktum abstract solid core panel, the top remains full thickness. I’ll weigh it later and let you know how many kilograms that is!
Using a cordless drill, turn the adjustment screw for the weight all the way until it stops, and that’s it! With a screwdriver, you’d probably turn the screw for about 5 minutes.
By the way, to prevent the cabinet from coming apart due to the different tension forces now, I simply installed four brackets inside that additionally hold the carcass together.
