Schwede8118 Jan 2014 19:13Hello,
I am planning to put together a Udden kitchen (I don’t know about a sink cabinet). Since I would need to create an "L" shape, the question is whether I can use a corner cabinet from the Faktum range for this? And possibly also a cabinet for a built-in oven?
Otherwise, I don’t know how to implement the "L" shape without wasting valuable space.
Good luck

IKEA-Experte18 Jan 2014 21:54Hello,
of course you can do that, but why not go with everything from Faktum right away? There are hardly any Udden parts left.

Schwede8118 Jan 2014 23:37Hello,
well, that will soon no longer be the case either.
But it's good to know that they can be combined. I was concerned about the countertop, whether it would still look good!?
The reasons are:
1. because of the price
2. because of the style
3. because of the self-assembly
However, I’m still in the planning phase, so this might change.
I’ve also read here that some people buy their kitchens abroad, but I wonder how warranty claims are handled, especially when the kitchens are discontinued.

IKEA-Experte19 Jan 2014 15:47Whether it looks nice is another question. You’ll have to decide that for yourself.
Check the availability of all the possible components at your IKEA. I wouldn’t be surprised if not only the sink cabinet is no longer available.
In my opinion, the difficulty level of the assembly only changes if you want to install FAKTUM perfectly, but not if you allow gaps like those you get with UDDEN.

Nordkäppchen19 Jan 2014 17:49Hi
For UDDEN, it will be like this... once it’s gone, it’s gone, no 25-year warranty, and no buy-back guarantee either.
Especially since Faktum is being discontinued, there is a chance to get a decent kitchen at a good price.
In France, starting February 3rd, Metod is available, and there is currently a 20% discount on Faktum, with fronts up to 50% off. I could imagine that there might be a similar promotion in Germany again.
There is also a buy-back guarantee for another 2 years.
To be on the safe side, I would buy a little extra for spare parts and enjoy my kitchen.
And if you’re already considering combining Faktum and Udden, then there really is no reason not to combine Faktum and Metod, either – with a bit of creativity, it works wonderfully.
Best regards
Nordkäppchen

Schwede8119 Jan 2014 19:11Hello,
I don’t actually need the kitchen until March/April, but I’m afraid there won’t be any special offers by then.
Isn’t the Metod cabinet frame taller? That would probably be difficult to combine with Faktum.
Looks like I chose a bad time to buy a kitchen.
If I bridge the transition period with Udden and then buy Metod, I’m worried the built-in appliances won’t fit anymore because the cabinet frames (is that the right term?) have different dimensions.
Man, Ikea, why are you discontinuing everything I need right now?
Good luck
