Hello,
I am planning to put together a Udden kitchen (I don’t know about a sink cabinet). Since I would need to create an "L" shape, the question is whether I can use a corner cabinet from the Faktum range for this? And possibly also a cabinet for a built-in oven?
Otherwise, I don’t know how to implement the "L" shape without wasting valuable space.
Good luck

Nordkäppchen19 Jan 2014 19:44Metod is not taller but lower... Metod has an 80cm (31.5 inches) high cabinet but only an 8cm (3 inches) base, so you would only notice the difference at the base, similar to Udden.
If you check the French or English IKEA websites, you’ll see the kitchen promotions, also in Austria... so why should all the others have offers until the very end but not Germany? I’m optimistic.
The oven would be a good match for Metod. The Udden oven is much too expensive, especially since it only offers top and bottom heat. I would rather buy a used freestanding oven for 50 euros and then get a decent oven that fits the Metod cabinets, where you actually have a proper drawer or even two underneath. For taller people, Metod is definitely much more comfortable.
If you don’t live too far from Strasbourg, consider making a trip there in February or March. Strasbourg is a very beautiful city and you can take the opportunity to check out the Metod kitchen. I plan to do the same, since I still need a few things for my kitchen. And if I unexpectedly don’t like Metod, I’ll just stock up on Faktum at the end.
Best regards

Schwede8119 Jan 2014 19:51Ah, okay, thanks, I must have misread that. I thought there would be steps at the top.
I’ll join the optimism and wait a bit longer. France is about a 4-hour drive… hmm, we’ll see.
I’m not a great cook, so the kitchen doesn’t need to do much. But the Udden stove would be too basic even for me.
Maybe I’ll really buy a few fronts in advance.
I have a friend in Innsbruck… but I can’t exactly send her to buy the kitchen for me.
Good luck

IKEA-Experte19 Jan 2014 21:25Where do you live? Other countries receive Metod before Germany. If UDDEN is only meant as a temporary solution until Metod, then the more affordable FYNDIG would also be sufficient. Built-in appliances can also fit into Metod. The ovens still have the standard 600mm x 600mm (24 inches x 24 inches) dimensions. IKEA’s electrical appliances are already designed for Metod.

Schwede8119 Jan 2014 22:06Hello, I live in Bavaria (near Munich).
It seems unlikely anyone nearby will receive it any earlier. I hadn’t even considered Fyndig yet, thanks for the tip.

IKEA-Experte19 Jan 2014 23:55Salzburg is not far from Munich. If I remember correctly, METOD will be available in Austria starting in April.

Schwede8120 Jan 2014 09:29Oh, the Austrians get them in April as well… yes, that would be doable.
But what happens if something is broken right away or if a warranty claim arises later? Where do you have to submit a complaint then? I obviously don’t want to have to travel to Salzburg all the time.
