Hello everyone,
So, do you have any updates on whether there will be a completely new kitchen system?!
Best regards

IKEA-Experte6 Mar 2013 17:02Thank you for the interesting post.
I am curious about the sizes in which the carcass modules will be available. If the system is based on 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 cm (8 / 16 / 24 / 32 / 40 inches) modules, allowing for a completely unique solution, but this means that, for example, there will no longer be a 50 cm (20 inch) wide base cabinet, then I find that far from ideal. In my current kitchen, this cabinet was the only option for a sink cabinet, and in a very small kitchen, you don’t want to give up a 10 cm (4 inch) wide cabinet either.
I am also surprised by the new design of the drawers, especially since new versions of the Rationell drawers (which I assume are from Manuex (FGV)) were only recently introduced in some countries.

I’m wondering the same thing—what do you do with uneven room widths? So far, none of the pictures show any corner solutions or corner cabinets.
However, I assume that Ikea 1. hasn’t revealed everything yet, and 2. will add items that customers strongly demand. It might also depend on how well Faktum sells. According to the press release (translated by Google), there is a “two-year opportunity for additions” to Faktum, but it’s unclear what that means: can current customers order parts afterward, or will the entire system still be available in stores for the time being?
I’m just glad I didn’t buy Faktum anymore...

Maverick18547 Mar 2013 07:18IKEA registered the name "Metod" back in 2011.
Now it is official that Faktum will be replaced by Metod in Sweden and Denmark starting in April. This change will also come to Germany, most likely at the launch of the 2013 catalog (September 1, 2013).

When you see how many shelves are only stocked with Faktum, I assume everything will only be available for two more years, just like the discontinued fronts.Everything points in that direction: Although nothing is mentioned yet on the Swedish website, the online kitchen planner just showed me the following:
In essence, the important date is September 30th: from then on, Faktum is being phased out in Sweden. It will likely be the same here.

Maverick18547 Mar 2013 10:36From that point on, Faktum will no longer be available in Sweden. But not at the order level. Because if only a warranty case occurs, IKEA will not replace the entire kitchen since they no longer have any stock. Therefore, it will probably be resolved at the order level.
