Hello everyone,
I have an appointment at the kitchen studio next Saturday and I’m preparing for it. Specifically, I’m looking for the appliances I want to have later in the kitchen. I’ve been researching a lot from brands like Neff / Siemens, Miele, Bora, etc., but I’m not making much progress.
For example, the current selection at Siemens looks like this:
Dishwasher IQ300 SN636X03MD
Oven IQ700 HB634GBS1
Microwave IQ500 HF15M264
Cooktop with integrated downdraft extractor EX801LX34E
or
2 x Cooktop IQ700 EX375FXB1E with extractor IQ700 LF16VA570
(The cooktop with integrated downdraft is the only fixed requirement, unfortunately I don’t have any influence on that ^^)
I actually value quality, energy efficiency, and a balanced price-performance ratio. But how can I find out if what you pick is really good? Or if there are possibly cheaper but equally high-quality products from other manufacturers. For example, the cooktop with integrated downdraft extractor from Miele—according to the catalog, it’s cheaper but just as good or even better?

Hülsta, Stressless, Musterring etc. – if these brands are available, the quality is okay. For solid wood furniture lovers (not us): Voglauer. In other words: if it’s not Porsche, Audi, BMW, or Mercedes, it’s junk?! You can’t be serious, right?

But if I move into a house that I plan to live in for at least 30 years, then I invest once in good quality.Who can seriously say nowadays that they will live in the same house for 30 years? Those times are over. Just like the days when people bought a wall unit at their wedding and passed it down, at best. That’s where IKEA comes in. Price is one thing, but the desire to have something new or different more often is another.
Still, I appreciate quality, but I combine both approaches. Besides, for the move, I don’t need any new furniture at all, everything I need is already there. I could even take the kitchen with me if I wanted. I’m leaving it behind because I’m tired of looking at it (it will be about 3.5 years old at the time of the move).

But if I move into a house that I plan to live in for at least 30 years, I make a one-time investment in good quality.By the way, there is experience behind that, if I may say so at my young age. Looking back at the stages of the past 10 years, almost nothing was planned; it just happened.

We are in a new home construction forum. I really have to assume that Rolf Benz is an option here, while Mömax probably isn’t. Seriously, what’s that about? Well, that’s quickly clarified: you’re simply assuming something wrong.
As far as I know, there are several people here who are currently building houses—Nordlys, for example—which should already disprove your assumption...[emoji6]
Apart from that, nearly all the furniture in the common areas of my home is custom-made by a carpenter... should I now look down on people building houses (and their furniture choices) who go for Hülsta or similar branded furniture—or in other words, ready-made products? Just to boost myself and feel “better”? What influence does it have on ME if, for instance, Nordlys prefers IKEA and I go with the carpenter? Exactly, none at all.
If that quality is completely sufficient for them, then even an economically speaking LEICHT kitchen would be a total waste for them. Don’t you agree?
