Hello everyone...
After our first floor plan attempt failed completely, we worked with the architect to develop two more ground floor versions and one for the upper floor. I would like to know which ones you find good or bad, and what you generally like or dislike about the floor plans?! Also, the pantry door is drawn a bit oddly; it won’t actually look like that...

Ev-Marie8629 May 2017 23:02I gave her the measurements of our furniture... so the living room, dining room, and some cabinets... we don’t have the kitchen yet... I’ve already done some "tinkering"
Natural hallway lighting from above is not simple: above the storage room strip is the attic. A double casement window above the stairs—who would want to clean it (and how)? A glass door in the bathroom might be an option.
Does she not sketch simultaneously while you talk (or better: have her CAD open while doing so)?

I don’t know, she’s always drawing something... and then never has time to change it... I don’t really get it either...

Ev-Marie8629 May 2017 23:28No... everything is handled via email. I send my "scribbles" or briefly explain over the phone what I want, then she hangs up, and a week later I receive the results.

Ev-Marie8629 May 2017 23:36I also can’t find a good solution for the upper floor... the bathroom might end up being too long... But this "mini beam" can’t really become an additional storage room, right?! Designing the upper floor is still a bit more challenging...

Now everything is clear to me. This just won’t work. As Alfred Tetzlaff would say, she’s a foolish woman. She’s almost certainly underpaid, gets a flat fee to keep a potential client busy, and is already in the red with your project. And it will go on like this forever—there will still be draft number 24 and 25. This will never amount to anything!
You have to cut out your furniture yourself with scissors and move it around on a plan, then hold your phone over it and take pictures. Pack up all the drawings and go see her in person to talk live. Either you both set aside an hour together for this, or it will never end.
Now I finally understand your earlier comment

The upper floor isn’t finished yet... more to come.. That means you have to wait another week, then she’ll send you a new attic floor proposal; but you’ve already moved on with your ground floor? ? ? — Lady, get your head out of the clouds!

That’s exactly right, that’s how you should do it: the bathroom will be that long, and the washing machine and dryer go in there, so they won’t disturb the closet space on the other side of the hallway. They’re also ideal for using up space in the under-roof area where the bathtub is completely misplaced.

Marvinius30 May 2017 07:10Do you really want the washing machine and dryer next to the bedroom? They make noise, and in our case, they often run late into the night...
