Hello,

we want to buy a laundry tower for our utility room where the washing machine and dryer are located.

The washing machine and dryer should stand side by side, elevated (inside a cabinet).

Directly below them, there should be a small drawer that can be pulled out to place the laundry basket on, so you don’t have to bend down constantly when loading and unloading.

There should also be cabinets below and above the washing machine/dryer for storage (although upper cabinets are not a must).

Which laundry tower can you recommend? Does anyone have experience with something like this?

Where is a good place to buy this?

Laundry towers (probably original ones are very expensive) — I have already seen alternatives from xxllutz or poco (I am somewhat skeptical about poco’s quality at first).

The cabinet should of course be stable and not collapse under the weight of the washing machine, and it should not move.

Where else can I find such cabinets? (I haven’t found anything at Ikea.)

I deliberately decided against such a "tower" setup. It is quite difficult to access the connections and equipment themselves. Secondly, the appliances could move significantly inside the cabinet during washing/spinning/drying cycles. Therefore, if you are going to buy something like this, it should be a really sturdy and stable unit. I placed both appliances stacked with an intermediate drawer in between and secured them with a safety strap. There is also a tray underneath at the bottom, just in case.

Stacked washing machine at the bottom and dryer on top in a white laundry room with cabinet.

You don’t need to access the connections after installation.

If both appliances were placed side by side, that would already be enough for us. We just want to be able to load and unload both devices in a way that’s easy on the back and have a drawer under each appliance to place the laundry basket.

Like the one from Poco Waschtower Wscs1462, but I’m not sure how stable it is.

The descriptions always mention vibration-absorbing (no idea if that’s true).

Poco is generally not known for quality.

Then order or buy one and test it. In any case, it will probably rattle around quite a bit in that cabinet... There isn’t much clearance on all sides.
Also keep in mind, the dryer will get quite warm in such “boxes/cabinets.” So the air must be able to circulate well.

What alternatives are there if both appliances are to be positioned side by side at a height that is back-friendly?

So, not stacked on top of each other.

Try searching for washing machine pedestals. In addition, kitchen manufacturers like Schüller, Nobilia, and others can also offer solutions for utility rooms.

Whether raising the machines is practical should always be carefully considered. Is there enough space to fold laundry on top? It might be more convenient to place the appliances side by side on the floor, install a continuous kitchen countertop from a home improvement store above them, and then have a nice surface for folding laundry. The surface can possibly be extended a bit, with a small sink integrated as well. Above, wall cabinets can be installed for laundry detergent and other supplies.
