Specifically, I am interested in whether IKEA itself or authorized dealers offer the possibility to deliver the Pax wardrobe completely assembled and ready to use, so I can avoid the time-consuming and sometimes complicated assembly process entirely. Do I need to book special services for a fully assembled delivery, or is this generally possible? Has anyone had experience with Pax wardrobes delivered without self-assembly?
Basically, IKEA offers the Pax wardrobes as flat-pack kits because they are meant to be customized to individual needs. A fully pre-assembled delivery is not available as a standard option in the regular store. However, you can book an assembly service, where a furniture assembler will put the wardrobe together at your home. Some regional dealers or moving companies may occasionally offer to deliver your fully assembled wardrobe, but this is quite rare. It is important to clarify before purchase whether the assembly service or pre-assembled delivery is available in your area and if the pricing model suits you.
Interesting question. The demand for pre-assembled Ikea Pax wardrobes is understandable, but IKEA deliberately follows the flat-pack concept – this significantly reduces storage costs and transportation volume. Complete pre-assembly would mean additional logistical effort and higher prices.
That is exactly why there are no officially pre-assembled options in the product range. Only assembly on site through a service is available. One could argue that systematic self-assembly is part of the business model.
I think this is the most flexible compromise: the wardrobe is delivered, then someone assembles it. Transporting fully pre-assembled products as an offer would hardly be economically viable for IKEA.

I understand the desire for fully pre-assembled Pax wardrobes, especially when you have limited time or DIY skills. It is frustrating to spend hours assembling furniture when you would rather use it right away. IKEA’s assembly service is therefore a good alternative, even though it involves additional costs. Perhaps IKEA would attract more customers if they offered more pre-assembled options, for example for an extra charge.
