Hi,

is it possible to fit this washing machine

into a similar

cabinet, so that a refrigerator could be placed on top and the washing machine below?

The same question applies to this cabinet

could you fit an oven, a microwave AND a dishwasher from IKEA in the lower section?

My new kitchen is unfortunately quite narrow and the washing machine has to be in the kitchen because of the only water connection. However, if it were possible to arrange all these appliances inside two tall cabinets, that would help me a lot.

The hose length should not be a problem, but you might want to consider positioning the dishwasher further outward instead of the washing machine. The reason is that the dishwasher door typically folds down when loading, so depending on what you do with the right side, you might have to step over it, navigate around it, or fold the door back in. This will be tight if you also have cabinets on the wall opposite. Normally, the best spot for both machines is next to the sink.

Having the refrigerator above the washing machine would make the connections easier, but no built-in refrigerator. Where is the dishwasher supposed to be placed so far? The open dishwasher door would only be potentially inconvenient if it were right in the middle of the workspace.

You can buy the black fronts and, if you don’t like them, take advantage of the return policy.

The idea of a return policy is very good.
I hadn’t thought of that at all. So I’m convinced, that’s how I’ll do it.

At the moment, the layout is:

60cm (24 inches) refrigerator
40cm (16 inches) dishwasher
60cm (24 inches) sink
80cm (31.5 inches) base cabinet with 4 drawers
60cm (24 inches) oven / cooktop
20cm (8 inches) pull-out drawer
60cm (24 inches) washing machine

I could do without the pull-out drawer and make the dishwasher 60cm (24 inches) as well. However, I actually like those pull-outs for oils and such.

Otherwise, my plan is to use the top 8cm (3 inches) drawer in the 80cm (31.5 inches) cabinet for all the tools and basic cutlery (better quality items will go to the dining room).
Below that, another 8cm (3 inches) drawer for laying down spices and maybe some things that didn’t fit above.
Beneath that, a medium-sized drawer used half for larger tools like a grater, and maybe a few small bowls to temporarily store chopped food during cooking.
The bottom large drawer will hold all pots and pans. I’ve measured it, it should fit.

I’ll definitely need at least one shelf above this cabinet, or maybe put in a tall cabinet after all, perhaps a wide one but only about 40cm (16 inches) high. Because somewhere all the oils and larger spices within easy reach have to go. At the moment, I’m using two tall cabinets, each 45cm (18 inches) wide, just for that in my current kitchen…
