Does anyone also bring old/previous furniture with them, or is almost everything replaced? My husband and I will be taking all our old/previous furniture with us. Is that still common nowadays, or is it considered strange in some way?
I don’t think so at all. We have a mix of old and new. We already had items that we still like and that are also high quality. Basically, we took everything except for a few small pieces of furniture and built-in units.
Since we now have significantly more space, we “had to” buy additional items.

When I moved to a larger apartment recently, I also replaced or added some furniture. Either because the old pieces didn’t fit the space or simply because there was more room available. I can also imagine that people might replace basic “starter” furniture from their first own apartment with higher-quality items when their budget allows.
We took almost everything with us. The new house is also significantly larger than the old one, so we still needed a few new items. The old living room cabinet was moved to the hobby room and provides storage space, and so on.
I also find it quite cozy. Being surrounded only by new furniture in a new house would probably have felt too unfamiliar for me after the move.
