Hello everyone,
I’m considering buying a Pax wardrobe from Ikea and am particularly interested in versions with glass doors. Since there are quite a few different designs and combinations available, my question to the community is: What Pax wardrobe variants with glass doors are currently offered?
I’m interested in the available frame materials, colors, glass types (clear, frosted, textured, etc.), and of course the sizes or construction heights in which the glass doors are available.
Does anyone have an overview of the different doors in the range or personal experiences they can recommend?
Thanks in advance for your helpful information and tips!

Hello, Ikea usually offers Pax glass doors with metal frames, often in white or black. The glass is either clear or has a frosted texture. Sizes correspond to the standard frames with heights of 201 cm (79 inches) or 236 cm (93 inches). Doors are mostly available in widths of 50 cm (20 inches) or 75 cm (30 inches).
Hello neotra61,
to answer your question more precisely: In the current Ikea range, there are glass doors for Pax wardrobes, mainly offered in two versions.
- First, there are framed doors with glass panels, usually metal frames in white, black, or aluminum colors. These glass doors are popular in series such as "Glasholm" and "Vikedal."
- Secondly, there are also wooden doors with glass inserts, where glass sections are embedded within certain frames, sometimes with clear glass or frosted glass.
The door heights correspond to the standard Pax heights of 201 cm (79 inches) and 236 cm (93 inches). Widths are generally available in 50 cm (20 inches) or 75 cm (30 inches), matching the cabinet frame.
Clear glass and frosted glass are the standard options; some models also offer tinted glass.
If you prefer transparent or semi-transparent doors, the metal frame versions are often ideal because they are sturdy and have a modern appearance.
If you need more details, I can gladly provide different combinations!

A white frame and clear glass, for example, create a clean, modern look. Wood paired with frosted glass brings a really cozy atmosphere. I’ve seen several combinations like that that look really cool.
The only thing to keep in mind is that glass doors are naturally a bit more delicate. But hey, that also adds a bit of charm! 😉
So, for style, the Pax glass doors are really excellent, both in terms of design and versatility.

I am interested in the available frame materials, colors, glass types (clear, frosted, patterned, etc.), and of course, the sizes or heights in which the glass doors are offered. The current IKEA Pax glass door options are limited to the following specifications:
- Frame material: Metal frames (mostly aluminum or steel), typically available in white, black, or aluminum finish
- Glass types: Clear glass, frosted (matte) glass, and some textured glass variants
- Sizes: Door heights of 201 cm or 236 cm (standard Pax carcass heights)
- Widths: 50 cm or 75 cm (matching the standard widths of the Pax carcasses)
Practical tips:
- Glass-frame doors are well suited for frequent use due to their durability.
- Wooden doors with glass inserts are more decorative and offer less transparency.
- Options are based on existing carcass dimensions; customization by IKEA is not available.
Conclusion: The range is versatile but not unlimited. You will find suitable glass doors for common Pax carcasses, mainly metal-framed with clear or frosted glass.
