I understand that the product range changes regularly, and I am specifically looking for frames, doors, or fronts with darker designs – not just white or birch, but for example dark brown, anthracite, or similar dark tones.

Does anyone have up-to-date information or experience regarding which PAX versions are available in dark colors and whether these are only sold in certain stores or exclusively online?

It would also be helpful to know if there are possibilities to upgrade existing PAX units with matching dark doors or surfaces, in case one decides to do so at a later stage.

IKEA PAX does offer various finishes and doors in darker colors, but the selection is limited and subject to seasonal changes. Currently, for example, the doors in the "Vikare" model, available in dark brown, are very popular. Additionally, the cabinet carcass is sometimes offered in a darker color called "dark brown."

Yes, dark PAX options are available. I combined a black frame with white doors. You can find doors in dark brown under "Vikare" and "Fardal."

Certain doors can also be purchased separately later on.

That's true, and if you're looking for dark finishes for PAX, it almost feels like a treasure hunt in the Ikea jungle 😄. But honestly, these "dark brown" colors are actually a good compromise if you want something stylish but not too dark.

Besides, you can jazz up the fronts with different handle styles if you want to personalize the design.

I recently saw PAX in anthracite. Not many models, but definitely available. Doors in anthracite are especially popular and tend to sell out quickly.
