Hello everyone,

I am currently focusing on planning a new wardrobe system and am interested in the Ikea PAX range. I am particularly curious whether there are PAX options with dark finishes available.

I understand that the product range changes regularly, and I am specifically looking for frames, doors, or fronts with darker designs – not just white or birch, but for example dark brown, anthracite, or similar dark tones.

Does anyone have up-to-date information or experience regarding which PAX versions are available in dark colors and whether these are only sold in certain stores or exclusively online?

It would also be helpful to know if there are possibilities to upgrade existing PAX units with matching dark doors or surfaces, in case one decides to do so at a later stage.

I look forward to your factual feedback or suggestions that could assist me with my planning.

I know how challenging it can be to find the perfect Pax with a dark finish. If you feel limited by the standard selection, consider looking into alternative doors from third-party suppliers for Pax.

Many users report that custom modifications or ordering special doors are a good way to achieve a dark and personalized look. However, this naturally requires craftsmanship skills and investment.

That's correct; there are indeed specialized suppliers who custom-make doors with dark finishes to fit the PAX system precisely. This greatly expands the design possibilities.

However, it is important to pay close attention to the exact measurements, as PAX components are not always 100% identical when produced in different manufacturing batches.

This is an important point. When planning, it is essential to check whether doors and carcasses are compatible, especially if parts are purchased later or come from different series.

For the best results, it is recommended to study the current Ikea product descriptions and measure the actual components on site.

I recently purchased a PAX system with dark brown "Vikare" doors. The quality seems good, with a matte and durable surface.
Assembly was straightforward, and the doors fit perfectly on the frame, which I chose in dark brown-black.

So, if you are looking for a dark option, you should definitely check the current availability.

Thank you very much for the detailed and nuanced assessments!

In summary, it seems that Ikea PAX does offer some options in dark finishes, especially for doors like "Vikare" or "Fardal," but the availability is not consistent around the clock and can be limited at times.

I have also noted compatibility and potential third-party suppliers as important considerations.

If anyone has experience with the long-term quality of the dark finishes, particularly regarding scratches or color changes caused by sunlight, I would appreciate any additional insights.
