Hello IKEA fans,

I am currently installing a kitchen and am stuck with the assembly of the fully integrated Siemens dishwasher SN65M037EU. It has to be installed at the edge of the kitchen, so I need to attach a side panel, which I’m sure is possible somehow. But I’m having trouble with the front panel.

I went to IKEA again and was offered the Behjälplig part. Now, reading the installation instructions, it says you should use 2x2 screws through the door, but my dishwasher only has one continuous hole per side at the front 🙁 plus two larger openings at the bottom for some kind of hanging mechanism. I find this quite strange and don’t know what to do next. Are you really supposed to use only those two screws? Or is the Behjälplig part not compatible at all?

Thank you in advance

Hello,
you need to attach BEHJÄLPLIG to the dishwasher according to the Siemens installation instructions.

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The Siemens manual states that the front door must be secured with two screws on each side and hooked in at the bottom. However, the BEHJÄLPLIG side panels are too short for the hook-in slots.

That said, I did find a second pair of screw holes on the dishwasher door, but these are located at the top. I can attach the BEHJÄLPLIG side panels there, but that means fixing them at the top and in the middle, not at the top and bottom. I’m not sure if this will be stable enough.

In the Siemens manual, there are three screws per side, right?

Oh yes, that's right. According to the instructions, 3 per side. But the front only has 2 holes per side *scratches head*

That only increases my concerns 🙂

Just for your information: The mentioned dishwasher can be fully integrated using BEHJÄLPLIG.
