ᐅ IKEA METOD kitchen with a Siemens dishwasher

Hello,

Unfortunately, I have to bring up the common topic of fitting a dishwasher from a different manufacturer, as I haven’t found clear information online and there seems to be a lot of confusion around this.

We want to buy a METOD kitchen with the GRYTNÄS front plus an 8cm (3 inch) toe kick. The dishwasher is planned to be placed between the sink cabinet and the stove.

We would like to buy a dishwasher. The question is, the measurements should fit well, I tried to compare the dimensions with IKEA dishwashers and didn’t find significant differences. However, I read in another thread that it’s recommended to use an XXL dishwasher. Why is that? Can’t we use the ones I mentioned just as well?

Also, what do I need to install the GRYTNÄS dishwasher front on a Siemens dishwasher?

Best regards

A custom-cut 10cm (4 inch) front panel will be installed there. The cut edge should be sealed with the Förbättra cover strip.

Hello, I’d like to share my experience as well. We went through exactly the same situation: a new IKEA kitchen and a standard built-in dishwasher from Siemens, almost the same model except mine has a cutlery drawer. IKEA offers a sliding hinge, part number 50291370 Behjälplig N Gsn vGS. This should be available again from the beginning of May. That’s the hinge we are using. Our kitchen cabinets have a height of 90 cm (35 inches) plus a 4 cm (1.5 inches) countertop. The dishwasher was placed on stones underneath so it fits perfectly. Once the cabinet front is attached, you can’t even notice it. The plinth is also 8 cm (3 inches). You can save yourself a call to Siemens directly—they’ll try to sell you a folding hinge for 159 euros, but the downside is that the cabinet front would be split. That definitely doesn’t work for us.

Interesting that BEHJÄLPLIG is supposed to be available again after all. However, it only works with fully integrated, not semi-integrated, machines like the one Eric 4552 has.

This is the Stefan method, as we call it here. Unfortunately, the video does not show the device with the installed, functioning front panel. Someone in this forum reported that it doesn’t work with a normally sized dishwasher, at least with the standard plinth height of 8cm (3 inches).
