Hello,

I definitely want to replace the IKEA Atlant siphon in our new kitchen due to structural reasons. I know the siphon only costs around €10 (about $11), but I do not want and cannot install the IKEA Atlant.

After remodeling three kitchens, I can say it works. I did the conversion myself. Back then, we replaced everything. Unfortunately, I didn’t note which brands we used.

Now to my actual question: Has anyone already replaced an Atlant siphon? If yes, with which models? Since my previous plumber is no longer available, I have to start from scratch.

I have checked with the usual home improvement chains—everywhere the same answer: IKEA doesn’t use standard sizes but has its own measurements. Thank you, I already knew that. No further help was offered except the suggestion to consult a specialist retailer.

Thank you very much

The only part specific to IKEA is the "flange" that is mounted directly under the basin, as it holds the drain strainer in place. Everything that comes after that is standardized (just don’t ask me the exact size in inches – you can take it with you to the hardware store).

Although the image shows a drain plug lift, it doesn’t matter – everything from the red circle onward can be changed...

Hello,

Thank you, Elvis. I hadn't thought of this option at all because until now I have always replaced everything. That certainly makes things easier again.

I like this forum.

Hello,

It’s done—I got everything I needed. For anyone like me who is looking for a better complete alternative, here is the solution.

With the following details, you can get the right product from your plumbing supplier.
Blanco
ABLG.1*3 1/2 OAFB Overlapping, square

I also bought a space-saving siphon and paid a cost contribution of 55 €.

Hello Mathias,

Thank you, this is the first thread that has helped me a bit.

Due to the structural conditions of my property, I unfortunately cannot use the Ikea trap either – the wall drain is not deep enough, so the flexible drain pipe from "Atlant" does not have enough slope, and the water drains very slowly. A standard trap, like the one my landlord had, will probably solve the problem.

Could you possibly upload a photo of your trap so I can assess whether it would help me?
Did you only replace the trap or also the drain strainer?

Many thanks for your help and best regards,
Stefan

Hi Hias,

With the following data, you will find the right part at your sanitary supply store.
Blanco
ABLG.1*3 1/2 OAFB Overlapping Square
227384

Do you have a manufacturer or model number for this? I couldn’t find it with these details...

I’m facing the problem that the base cabinet for the sink is not directly located where the water connections and drain pipes are, but in the base cabinet 60cm (24 inches) away (distance siphon to waste connection about 90cm (35 inches)) – and you can’t extend the Atlant.

That means:
Option 1: Extend the supply lines (standardized) and the drain pipe (coming from the wall, standardized), then connect the Atlant.
Or
Option 2: Use a completely different siphon with an extension.
