Hello,

I definitely want to replace the IKEA Atlant siphon in our new kitchen due to structural reasons. I know the siphon only costs around €10 (about $11), but I do not want and cannot install the IKEA Atlant.

After remodeling three kitchens, I can say it works. I did the conversion myself. Back then, we replaced everything. Unfortunately, I didn’t note which brands we used.

Now to my actual question: Has anyone already replaced an Atlant siphon? If yes, with which models? Since my previous plumber is no longer available, I have to start from scratch.

I have checked with the usual home improvement chains—everywhere the same answer: IKEA doesn’t use standard sizes but has its own measurements. Thank you, I already knew that. No further help was offered except the suggestion to consult a specialist retailer.

Thank you very much

Hi,

I don’t have an Atlant or an IKEA sink, so I can’t check. Regarding the question about the strainer, see the 2nd post – the "plate" with the strainer is specific to IKEA, but the parts after that are not. If no one else responds, measure the outer diameters of the pipes in question and take those measurements to a hardware store or plumbing supplier. If they have standard diameters, you should be able to find matching fittings.

Best regards,

Thanks, Thomas. I actually found the solution in this forum and have already installed it for some time. Everything is working perfectly now—the water drains exactly as it should!

I only had to buy five of those height difference spacer pieces because the second basin was higher. It cost me about 40€ (roughly $43), but I’m glad it’s working now. I definitely wanted to share that with you.

Unfortunately, some of the black retaining clips that clamp the panel to the feet at the bottom recently broke. Are these clips available for purchase?

Hello everyone,
There are suitable drain fittings from Blanco for sinks with 1.5 basins as well (in my case, the large Hällviken).

The Blanco no. 222769 fits the Hällviken sink perfectly.
It can be installed directly without needing any part of the Atlant siphon.
Additionally, it comes with a nice rotary push-button.

The cost on Amazon is about 50 euros.

As can be seen in the photo, in my opinion the hose is also meant to function as a kind of "secondary trap," just as shown in the image. Otherwise, the water level would not remain high enough to completely seal off the drain with standing water. The result would be odors coming from the sink. However, this cannot happen if water stays trapped inside the hose. Water should not drain slowly like this in general, as visible in the photo. If it does, then something else must be wrong.
