Hello everyone,
we purchased the wall cabinet Godmorgon from IKEA as well as a countertop (which is 1.36m (4 ft 6 in) long), into which our built-in washbasin will be installed later. Our wall is made of hollow brick Unipor and has a thickness of 17.5cm (7 inches) in the installation area in the rough construction stage, plus plaster.
Now, like many others, I am wondering:
I really appreciate any tips or experiences you can share.

Now, like many others, I am wondering:
- Which screws and wall plugs (anchors) do I need to securely mount the Godmorgon cabinet to the wall?
- Once the countertop with the built-in washbasin is installed on top, should it be additionally supported with brackets (heavy-duty brackets)? If so, which kind?
I really appreciate any tips or experiences you can share.

I had estimated 5cm (2 inches) based on the drawing, which is probably anything but to scale.

Maybe it was 5.5cm (2.2 inches)? I'll see if I can remove one of the drawers...
The distance from the screw head to the top edge of the side panels is 6.5cm (2.6 inches). However, there is about +/- 5mm (0.2 inches) of tolerance due to the mounting plates used for leveling.

We are planning a combination with the Villeroy & Boch Avento washbasin.
Now we need to provide the plumber with all the measurements, since he will install the pre-wall system and we will handle the washbasin and cabinet.
Once finished, I will report back and hopefully share good results.

He should simply double-layer the drywall for the pre-wall construction; in my opinion, that’s sufficient for everything. I just want to avoid any misunderstandings with all the different measurements.
By the way, a tip regarding the drain: it shouldn’t be installed too high. I’m not sure if this is specified in the mentioned DIN standard, but with our drain and siphon, I can’t create an adequate slope for the push-to-open valves because the valves extend too far down. It works with the ones supplied by Ikea, though…

Thanks for the tip about the siphon. I’ll take a look.

Now we have to provide all the measurements to the plumber, since they will handle the pre-wall installation and we will do the sink and cabinet.
Once finished, I will report back and hopefully share a successful result. Hello junijulibaut,
we are also planning the same combination with the Villeroy & Boch Avento and Ikea Godmorgon. How was your experience with it? Do you have any insights to share or some pictures for me? Is there anything else to keep in mind? Thanks in advance!
