Geeknotes4 Sep 2014 12:43Hello everyone,
Since our old dishwasher (Whirlpool) stopped working after 8 years, we are now looking for a new one.
Does the current LAGAN dishwasher fit without any problems in our Faktum kitchen? The height should be okay, as the Faktum kitchen stands on 16cm (6.3 inches) high plinths, making it about 87cm (34.3 inches) to the countertop.
The question is whether our old dishwasher door front would fit the LAGAN dishwasher. The dimensions of the front are 69.5cm x 59.5cm (27.4 inches x 23.4 inches).
Below the kitchen there is a plinth trim at the height of the plinths, about 16cm (6.3 inches). Could this possibly interfere with the installation of the new dishwasher?
Unfortunately, IKEA was unable to provide any information in-store last week, as they allegedly have never tested installing new appliances in the old Faktum kitchen.
I appreciate any help.
Kind regards,
Daniel

Should I simply conclude from this that it is a guide for Faktum and that everything fits?
Kind regards
Daniel

IKEA-Experte4 Sep 2014 18:56An instruction manual for Faktum doesn’t make sense if the front doesn’t fit. The front would not fit if the door were longer than the front panel. This cannot be the case due to the overall height of the appliance.
I have no doubt that it will work. In case of doubt, you can return the machine.
P.S. The appliance is also sold in Russia, where Faktum is still available.

zetterberg5 Sep 2014 08:02Yes, the appliances fit because IKEA does not have its own platform for appliances with the METOD kitchen system; only the front panels are an issue. The LAGAN has only been available as fully integrated for the past 1 1/2 years, with a door height of 70cm (28 inches) for Faktum. However, you have the semi-integrated models, which had a front panel height of 57cm (22 inches).
So, check if you can find a front panel in 70cm (28 inches) height, or consider installing a stainless steel front panel. There is also IKEA’s repurchase guarantee, or you can buy the semi-integrated appliance elsewhere.
With fully integrated appliances, some people find it inconvenient not knowing when the appliance cycle is finished. Some models have an LED indicator that shines onto the floor or underneath the countertop to show whether the appliance is still running or already finished. At IKEA, these are called Skinande and the new Välgjord.

Geeknotes5 Sep 2014 08:51I now have a fully integrated dishwasher, and my front panel is 69.5cm (27.4 inches) high. So, it should fit.
I'm going to Ikea again soon to ask some more questions.
Kind regards
Daniel
