mikeinator112 Jul 2012 08:18Hello everyone,
Now that I am the proud owner of an IKEA kitchen still in 1000 separate parts, I’m reaching out to the IKEA fan community for some help.
We received the delivery yesterday and have already assembled two cabinets completely (one base cabinet for the stove and a corner carousel unit). However, a question has come up. How do I attach the legs? The manual says they need to be fixed with a screw, but no screws were included in the delivery—neither with the legs nor with the cabinet body. Does anyone have experience with how these are mounted? They are 16mm (approximately 0.63 inches) legs without height adjustment.
Many thanks,
Mike

There should be 16 screws included with each set of legs!
I honestly can’t imagine that they are missing from ALL the legs.

mikeinator112 Jul 2012 10:08We have the 16mm (5/8 inch) plastic legs. A total of 9 packages. So far, we have opened 3 and none of them contained any screws.

Nayla_106812 Jul 2012 14:01Hi,
there are no screws included because you don’t need any.
Have you looked at the assembly instructions? They explain how to attach the legs. Or, simply put, insert the leg into the mounting plate and then slot the protruding tabs at the top into the designated holes in the bottom panel of the cabinet. Done. If you have a base cabinet that is only 35 cm (14 inches) deep, these holes may be missing—then you need to cut off the tabs and fix the legs to the bottom panel using your own screws. Always use four legs per cabinet; don’t try to save money by attaching one cabinet to the neighboring one.
And be sure to check the assembly instructions from time to time, as many questions will answer themselves. Of course, if there are still questions you can’t resolve, feel free to ask here.
Oh, and welcome to the forum!

mikeinator112 Jul 2012 14:11Okay, then I must officially be too slow. As I said, I’ve already built two cabinets and managed well, but I don’t understand the feet. Are they simply just inserted? But then they would fall out when I lift the cabinet to place it in the kitchen. Sorry, I’m usually quite clever, but here the bulbs stay dark.
We planned 4 pieces per cabinet.
Thanks
Mike

IKEA-Experte12 Jul 2012 15:48Actually, I didn’t want to write anything more here at first because I’m quite upset with IKEA.
The bracket into which the legs are inserted can be fixed with a screw, but you don’t have to. Even if you screw it tightly, the legs might still come out of the bracket. Just do whatever works best for you. Nothing is missing, and you’re not doing anything wrong.
