Hello everyone,
Now that I am the proud owner of an IKEA kitchen still in 1000 separate parts, I’m reaching out to the IKEA fan community for some help.
We received the delivery yesterday and have already assembled two cabinets completely (one base cabinet for the stove and a corner carousel unit). However, a question has come up. How do I attach the legs? The manual says they need to be fixed with a screw, but no screws were included in the delivery—neither with the legs nor with the cabinet body. Does anyone have experience with how these are mounted? They are 16mm (approximately 0.63 inches) legs without height adjustment.
Many thanks,
Mike

mikeinator112 Jul 2012 15:57Hmm, well, I can't really say much. Except for the legs, the instructions are quite good, and it’s enjoyable to assemble together.

IKEA-Profi12 Jul 2012 23:19Dealing with the legs can be fiddly if you want to move the cabinet afterwards, that's true. Therefore, it’s best to assemble them on site whenever possible. Nevertheless, they are incredibly stable as long as the cabinet is not moved around.

Nayla_10681 Sep 2012 16:21The issue with the legs is really the worst nonsense. The instructions are an outrage, as is the entire plan from Faktum kitchen.Wow, great introduction to the forum! Welcome!
What exactly do you find wrong? And what is the problem with Faktum? If you provide more details, someone will surely be able to help or answer your questions in certain areas!

The method with the feet is a complete mess. How are you supposed to move the cabinets properly and level them when these crappy things bend or fall out of their holes with every little movement? I solved it by screwing a horizontal batten to the wall under the kitchen.
Is it normal that the cooktop doesn’t come with a high-voltage power cable? And why isn’t it mentioned anywhere in the instructions how to remove the drawers from the cabinets again? I didn’t have internet on the construction site, so I was initially stuck. Oh boy, this kitchen has really tested my patience... They really don’t do anything extra to help you out. And if you have a problem with Ikea, you have to call their expensive hotline number. That’s really outrageous.
Edit:
Oh, I just noticed that there are other types of legs that you can simply screw on, which prevents them from falling out. Well done, Ikea. Unfortunately, I have the other feet from the brochure and not those "rational" legs...
