TarguHello everyone, I recently assembled an IKEA Platsa wardrobe and noticed that I seemed to be missing several screws, which significantly delayed the assembly. I would like to know: Which screws are most commonly forgotten or overlooked during the IKEA Platsa assembly? Are there specific parts or fasteners that you should pay special attention to in order to avoid unexpected interruptions during the build? I would appreciate your experiences and tips!
Good morning!
I would like to explore this question in more detail. In my experience, the issue of missing screws during the IKEA PLATSA assembly is largely due to the cabinet using various connection methods: cam locks, dowels, back panel screws, and special screws for the base profiles. The cam locks (also called eccentric connectors) are especially often overlooked because they usually come loose in the bags and can easily be missed in the instructions.
Another common challenge is the long screws needed to connect multiple cabinet units – these are often packed separately and are not immediately obvious. It’s best to sort all screws by type before starting the assembly; this reduces the chance of such errors.
I am also interested to know whether you find the instructions and screw bags sufficiently well labeled, or if you see any room for improvement?

Did you experience any issues with stability, or could you initially leave them out? What exactly do you do when you notice a screw is missing?
