Hello everyone, I recently assembled an IKEA Platsa wardrobe and noticed that I seemed to be missing several screws, which significantly delayed the assembly. I would like to know: Which screws are most commonly forgotten or overlooked during the IKEA Platsa assembly? Are there specific parts or fasteners that you should pay special attention to in order to avoid unexpected interruptions during the build? I would appreciate your experiences and tips!
I find it frustrating when you realize in the middle of construction that screws are missing. This often happens to me with the small screws for the back panels, which then can’t be found anywhere in the packaging. Of course, this can make the assembly process stressful.
Maybe we should consider creating a kind of "pre-assembly checklist" to prevent this from happening so often. How do you handle it when screws suddenly are missing? Do you get replacements or modify the build?

When specific screws are missing, the only solution is usually to exchange the product at IKEA or order replacements through their spare parts hotline. Sometimes you can improvise, but that is risky with load-bearing components. How do you handle this?

I’ve noticed that the short screws for the back panel are often missing, but if you look at the overall picture, there are still enough screws. So, make sure to double-check everything before giving up! 🙂

Personally, I find the back panel screws especially critical because the bonding or stabilization provided by these screws is essential. Without them, the frame could have very little support in the worst case. Do you have any tips on how to best organize the inspection to ensure these screws are definitely not missing?
