Hello everyone, I noticed that the right door hinge on my Pax wardrobe is loose and damaged. Since the door no longer closes properly, I want to replace the hinge completely. Could someone provide a detailed guide on how to professionally change the hinge on the Pax wardrobe? I am especially interested in the necessary tools, the disassembly steps, and any important tips to ensure the door fits well and functions correctly afterward. Are there any specific things to watch out for when removing and installing the hinge? Thanks in advance for your support!

Additionally, I recommend checking the hinge before installation:

- Does the replacement part exactly match the model?
- Are all mounting components included?

Also, be sure to tighten evenly to avoid any stress that could affect the mechanism.

Yeah, it’s quicker than you think! The important thing is to remove the door first and unscrew the screws properly without damaging them! 🙂 Don’t panic, just take it step by step. If you bought the hinges from Ikea, they fit on any door! A great opportunity to get your cabinet back in shape!

Thank you for the helpful tips so far! One more question: Is it possible to replace the hinge without completely removing the door, or does that just make the process unnecessarily more difficult? Also, I would like to know if there is a way to adjust the door easily after replacing the hinge, in case it doesn’t close properly or gets stuck.

To be honest, if you don’t remove the hinge, it becomes really fiddly! It’s better to take the door off—that way you’ll have peace of mind and finish faster.

For alignment: check if there are small screws at the hinge base that allow lateral and vertical adjustment. These will help you set the door perfectly. That’s really invaluable!

I can confirm this; the door only became perfectly aligned after a slight readjustment.

I was also concerned whether the replacement could be done without removing the door, but I can say: it is technically possible, but unnecessarily complicated and risky, as you don’t have enough force or clear view.

Here are some practical tips for the replacement:

- Use a magnetic screwdriver to prevent screws from falling.
- Check the condition of the screws before replacing them; old screws may wear out and should be replaced if necessary.
- First tighten the screws lightly to adjust the hinge positions before fully securing them.
- After installation, thoroughly test the door: open and close it to ensure it fits properly without any looseness.

These steps will help ensure your Pax wardrobe continues to work well for a long time.
