Hello,
We received our IKEA kitchen last Friday and started assembling it. By now, everything is set up. Only the dishwasher is causing problems. We have the Regöra dishwasher, which is fine so far. With the delivery, we also received the Ringhult front 60 x 80 cm (24 x 31.5 inches) and Välglig handle. We have only held the door in place so far, and if we were to mount it, the dishwasher door wouldn’t open because the bottom would be too long and hit the housing. Why is that? I assume we might be making a mistake somewhere, right?

Best regards, Steffi

Hello, dishwasher fronts never come with pre-drilled holes because the mounting fittings are not standardized.

The countertop could be used as material for a spacer strip.

Hello IKEA expert,

I understand if the fasteners are not standardized. But why aren’t they standardized? Everything else is standardized. Regarding the panel: we already have a baseboard. Could there possibly be a gap remaining between the front panel and the baseboard? That would be fantastic... Seriously: why is there no description included with the cover panel? It’s not mentioned in any other instructions, and I can’t read minds.

Have a good evening

So, I once checked the item list in the online planner and saw a cover panel listed with a completely different front. Then I "disassembled" the kitchen in the planner, meaning I took all parts apart and moved them, and somewhere at the very back, a filler strip with that front was hidden.

This means you should be able to find your additional cover strip somewhere in the planner.

Because each equipment manufacturer creates their own designs and often has to, since many small details are protected by patents. For example, the sliding hinge on the Ikea dishwasher Enastaende/Välgjord is a patent held by Electrolux/AEG and can only be found on their devices. So, every other manufacturer who wants to build something similar has to find a different solution.

Hey,

The issue you described also caused major problems during the installation of our kitchen. Despite careful planning beforehand and thorough consultation at the showroom, the built-in dishwasher could not be opened after installing the sliding metal rail and front panel. Our solution, after further advice, was to install the front panel without the supplied metal rail and remove part of the lower front.

If you are interested in the exact problem and this individual solution, feel free to check out my blog post:
This experience report might also inspire your creativity to find an appropriate solution.
