Hello!

After unsuccessfully arguing with Bosch customer service, I’m quite frustrated and looking for a new dishwasher.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a dishwasher? We have an IKEA kitchen, so the Bosch XXL dishwashers would have been a good fit. Now we need one with a Vario hinge.

The main thing for me is that the dishes come out properly clean. Noise level is also important since we have an open-plan living area.

Is there really a difference between the “budget” brands and the well-known ones?

Until now, I had a Beko that cleaned everything well right up to the end. I’m even considering buying one from IKEA now.

Good luck,

Hello, we have an AEG Favorit 50 KVI1P and are very satisfied with it. So far, within one year, I had to clean something again three times. Since we also have an open kitchen, the noise level is important to me, and here I have no complaints either. I would buy it again so far.

The new models take a long time in the standard program because otherwise, they wouldn’t achieve their A+++++++ rating, and those who don’t make it are out. They spray way too little, way too cold water on way too many dishes for ages—mainly to meet the test cycle requirements.

It’s important to load the dishwasher properly. Then nothing should be noisy, or at least not loud, and the items will also come out clean. That sounds obvious, but even here among relatives (and my wife too!) properly sorting the load is unknown. Even a Miele at three times the price won’t help in that case.

As I said, we are using a current Siemens model here, and it works perfectly.

Some dishwashers, however, have very little insulation on the outside. When running, they sound as if a strong jet of water is hitting a metal surface, which is basically what is happening.

I would say 4 programs: Intensive, Eco, Extra Quiet, and Quick

Questioner: We have an IKEA kitchen and need a new dishwasher. Our old one was BEKO and was actually okay. Should we buy an IKEA dishwasher? It fits well, right?

Answer: No!!! For heaven’s sake, not IKEA!!!! (Does anyone here actually own an IKEA appliance and speak from experience? Or is it just hearsay?) Then: Get Bosch... shortly after: Miele. Miele is a must. (The fact that Miele costs twice as much as IKEA is often left out. IKEA Skinande is $449, Miele starts at $899—does it really last twice as long?)

IKEA appliances are actually made by Whirlpool or Electrolux. That’s true. They are specially manufactured for IKEA. They come with a 5-year warranty and they do what they are supposed to do. I say this from experience, not hearsay. The dishwasher cleans the dishes, the stove cooks, the oven bakes, the microwave heats. The refrigerator cools, the freezer freezes. And all this at a fair purchase price.

The dishwasher and the refrigerator are noisy, the cooktops have insufficient power, and the convection function in the oven causes black spots on the cake due to poor air circulation. This is my personal experience with IKEA, not just hearsay. In our new IKEA kitchen, we no longer have a single appliance from IKEA.

Miele dishwashers are often recommended for this reason, as they fit directly into the IKEA system without the need for the Vario hinge.
