Hello!
After unsuccessfully arguing with Bosch customer service, I’m quite frustrated and looking for a new dishwasher.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a dishwasher? We have an IKEA kitchen, so the Bosch XXL dishwashers would have been a good fit. Now we need one with a Vario hinge.
The main thing for me is that the dishes come out properly clean. Noise level is also important since we have an open-plan living area.
Is there really a difference between the “budget” brands and the well-known ones?
Until now, I had a Beko that cleaned everything well right up to the end. I’m even considering buying one from IKEA now.
Good luck,

We just got the new kitchen and chose Miele.
We’ve already done quite a few loads, and the results are excellent. We also have the hood/fan/ventilation on, but it’s barely noticeable (44 dB).
It’s an A+++ appliance, and the options for adjusting the baskets inside are brilliant. Also available as an XXL model.
This is the model:
G6360SCVI
MIELE Dishwasher 60 cm (23.6 inches) EcoLine, fully integrated, 14 place settings, 9 programs, automatic program, touch buttons, single-line plain text display, ComfortClose, 24-hour start timer, remaining time indicator, visual and acoustic function control, FlexiTimer with EcoStart, EcoFeedback, ThermoSpar, alternating rinse, half load, fresh water dishwasher, AutoOpen/SensorDry/air circulation turbo thermal drying, Perfect GlassCare, wash options: short and extra economical, comfort baskets, 3D cutlery tray, waterproof system, filter control indicator, 44 dB, annual consumption 2716 L (717 gallons) water / 237 kWh, energy rating A+++/A, dimensions 598 mm x 570 mm x 820 mm (23.5 in x 22.4 in x 32.3 in) Two programs are definitely enough. The main thing is that the dishes come out clean and dry.
Hello,
we now have this one
Miele G 6860 SCVi
It is a bit quieter than the dishwasher mentioned a few posts above. We previously had a Siemens model – also advertised as extra quiet – which was quiet only for three weeks and then became so loud that the doors had to be closed. The customer service visited several times but couldn’t fix the issue... so: never Siemens again!
We have been living in the new house with an open kitchen since October, and the dishwasher is still quiet.

Last year, we had to replace our Beko dishwasher after 9 years because more and more spots on the racks started to rust, and several other small parts broke. Since replacement racks were no longer available, we decided to replace the entire unit.
It seemed like our simple Beko from 2007 cleaned better, was easier to load, and was much faster than the current mid-range Bosch model. However, loading also depends somewhat on the type of dishes used. In particular, our coffee pots fit much better in the Beko.
On the other hand, the Bosch is significantly quieter, and the drying performance is somewhat better, likely due to the longer drying program and the automatic door opening after the cycle finishes. When comparing manufacturer noise levels, Miele and the BSH group are definitely leading.
So, I can’t say that more expensive always means better.

Because of the fine filters, you also have to use higher-quality detergent tablets and ideally clean the filters after every wash cycle. I’m seriously considering buying an older, used model.
My current new Bosch dishwasher is a disaster. So far, I haven’t had a single load that didn’t require rewashing.

After all, how can such large amounts of dishes be properly cleaned with so little water, as the new machines sometimes use (under 10 liters (2.6 gallons)). For us, only a dishwasher with an extra-intensive setting was an option, where the water consumption increases significantly. We ended up with the Miele G 6265 SCVi XXL because it was available at a good price recently and especially because it dries well with a fan.
