Hello,
we received a quote for our kitchen.
The kitchen has the following features: Nobilia white high-gloss, handleless.
All wall cabinets open upwards.
The rest mainly consists of drawers and few cabinet doors (and one corner cabinet).
We decided on a granite countertop. What are your experiences with granite countertops?
We only know advantages, with price being the only downside.
All appliances are Siemens IQ700. What do you think of them? They should be good quality, right?
Induction cooktop, 80 or 90 cm (31 or 35 inches)?
Thank you very much for your opinions.

Berbel has built a good reputation; their products are available almost everywhere and represent the "top" of the range in stores. I can’t judge whether their main claim of "centrifugal force without a grease filter" is truly unique or superior. However, many people seem very satisfied with it.Yep, you can simply wipe the grease out of the compartment. After cooking heavily three times, it only takes about 10 seconds to clean. Because of the way it draws in air, even a relatively low volume flow on paper is more than enough to effectively extract everything from the stovetop. The activated carbon filter, which weighs around 2kg (4.4 lbs), really filters out a lot and only needs to be replaced every few years. For example, the glass panel in the chimney hoods is ventilated from underneath. With hoods from BSH and others, the glass panel initially fogs up on the front side, and as you continue cooking, condensation actually drips from the hood onto the stovetop.
Additionally, due to the installed motors, the noise level is relatively low.
However, I have to admit the price-performance ratio isn’t ideal. But since I have had the chance to use Berbel, Bosch, and Novy over the past years, I can say there is definitely a noticeable quality difference between Berbel/Novy and Bosch.

Pwnage61926 Nov 2021 17:15For appliances from the BSH group (Siemens, Bosch, Neff), is the condensate supposed to drip down from the hood? Even with, for example, the IQ700?
So would your recommendation be Berbel or Novy? Is it only Berbel that has the grease tray? Which models from Novy and Berbel would you recommend considering a reasonable price-performance ratio?

Is Berbel the only brand with a grease tray? As far as I know, yes.

So what would be your recommendation? Visit a different forum. First, plan your kitchen carefully and take your time. Go to a showroom. ALL hoods work—some better, some worse. Some with more features, some with fewer. And always keep your budget in mind.
Now you’re asking about Berbel and Novy, brands you probably hadn’t heard of before 😉
Berbel and Novy are already linked elsewhere 😉 ... I have also experienced dripping from a slanted hood (Siemens). In general, I’m not really a fan of slanted hoods.
Since it’s a kitchen wall setup with a cooktop, there are also nice solutions with ceiling-mounted range hoods integrated into cabinets. There is also more information on this elsewhere; a Google search for "ceiling range hoods - album" will lead you to an album of various range hood solutions.

Pwnage61926 Nov 2021 18:05We have planned the kitchen, and now the main part is the last point.
Tomorrow we will have the final consultation before we have to sign off on the kitchen because of Black Friday.
That is why I want to know which range hoods work well so that we don’t have problems with the open ground floor or dripping.
I also don’t want to pay too much if a more affordable option would have been sufficient.
