I want to install the Bosch SMV68M90EU dishwasher in my Metod kitchen because it received good ratings from Stiftung Warentest. After reading quite a bit here, I currently have the following questions:
Is installation possible with a flip hinge for tall cabinet dimensions? Unfortunately, Bosch does not provide more information about this hinge. It seems to work, but the comments I’ve read make me doubt that.
According to Bosch, the height of the toe kick must be at least 9 cm (3.5 inches). How does this affect Metod cabinets with 8 cm (3 inches)? Is there any way to address this?
XXL or large-capacity dishwashers are often recommended here because the front panel can be attached directly. But when I look at Bosch models, even these fronts only go up to 775 mm (30.5 inches). Am I misunderstanding something?

use an XXL appliance with a hinged overlay system. This will avoid any problems.
The specified 9 cm (3.5 inches) for the base are not important.
For the (in my opinion overpriced) folding hinge, the front must be two-part, and to meet the given dimensions, an 80 cm (31.5 inches) high front needs to be cut into two pieces, which can be problematic for fronts like Bodbyn.

Ah, thanks for the tip! The XXL dishwashers with the Vario hinge do indeed have a front height of 800 mm (31.5 inches) specified.
My problem now is that the Bosch dishwashers with the Vario hinge neither have Zeolite drying nor an energy efficiency rating of A. I also take test results from Stiftung Warentest seriously, and they have not tested any XXL models with Vario hinges.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind a split front. I have Ringhult in white. Are there any concerns regarding this? Is it possible to visually conceal the joint? Are there any trims or strips that can be applied over it?

Not all models can be tested by consumer organizations, but in a similar price range, the construction is not significantly different.
Especially in areas where moisture can be an issue, cut edges can become problematic more easily. If necessary, I would have the front panel cut by a professional joinery and finished with an ABS edge banding.
Without a variable hinge, the XXL dishwasher can also be installed using the Stefan method (--> search function), but I do not know the acceptable range of working heights for this to still work.

Yesterday, I visited my local Ikea again due to missing kitchen parts and inquired about the dishwasher. The salesperson then offered me a Behjälplig hinge, which they had set aside a few of at the time and which I now have.
However, I have read in the forum that there have already been some issues with this sliding hinge. The kitchen fitter, however, said they have so far managed to install every dishwasher (I just hope in good condition).
Do you think the chances are good? Or would you advise against trying? What are the risks?
