Hello everyone,

we have a real problem here… since we can’t get our house because of a stupid formal error, we have to stay in our current apartment. So we no longer need the kitchen we ordered from IKEA for the new house.

Question: what can we do? Our kitchen is scheduled for delivery and installation on November 5. It’s already paid for. I understand that we will lose the money for the custom worktop, and I’m okay with that. Is there any chance of returning the rest? IKEA offers a three-month return policy, but how does that work if the kitchen has already been purchased, but IKEA hasn’t delivered yet?

Thank you very much!

Regards,
Christian

First of all, sorry about your house situation – I can imagine how really frustrating that must be.

Regarding your question... If the kitchen is scheduled for delivery in about a month, you could try to cancel the order. With some luck, this might be possible without major issues. If the countertop is already in production, as you said, the costs probably won’t be refunded. I would recommend going to the customer service desk first thing tomorrow morning when the store opens (or as soon as possible) with all your documents, receipts, etc., and try to stop everything. The sooner, the better!
