Hello! Last week, we visited a retailer and looked at the Parador Modular One flooring. It sounds interesting: plasticizer-free; lifetime warranty; integrated cork underlay for sound insulation.

Who has experience with it? During installation? In daily use; cleaning; maintenance; durability?

Hello Garfield,

For the reasons you described, we decided on this flooring and installed it over the past few days. On the first day, we covered 47m² (505 sq ft) in the living room, and over the next two days, around 60m² (645 sq ft) of other living spaces.

The installation was really easy, quick, and straightforward. The quality of the planks (we chose the larger size with a length of 220cm (87 inches)) is very good, only one plank had an adhesive defect. On 2-3 planks, parts of the tongue were broken off, but we were still able to use them.

Since installation, we have swept, vacuumed, and wiped once each. That worked perfectly.

Could you tell me what the planks cost per m² (sq ft) for you? I’m still unsure if the price from our supplier is good and would like to have a comparison...

Hey Joe, thank you very much for your reply! I don’t remember the exact price anymore, but it was about 30 euros per square meter (around $30 per square yard). How much did your flooring cost?
Best regards, Susi

We also installed it and are currently using it. The floor has quite a strong odor at the beginning, and installation is relatively simple. However, the click system could be better; we solved this by first connecting a whole plank row and then attaching it, rather than joining each individual board. This worked very well.

What I really like is the design and feel. Both are perfect. The thickness and integrated impact sound insulation are also great.

Still, we added an additional impact sound insulation underneath to gain another 1-2mm (0.04-0.08 inches) in height, so it aligns flush with the adjacent floor.

I can also confirm the additions by Bookstar.
Join the entire strip sideways first, then insert the whole strip into the already laid floor.

On the screed, place PE foil, then 2mm (0.08 inches) impact sound insulation, followed by the 8mm (0.3 inches) Parador floorboards. This should bring you quite close to the thickness of other possible floor coverings...

You can use the Parador Acoustic Protect 100, so you don’t need a PE foil. It has an aluminum laminate for bonding. This way, you save 1.8mm (0.07 inches).
